GUARDIENAGE IN MALTA

To own a boat is a rare pleasure available to a relative few. With ownership however, comes time-consuming responsibilities that diminish your enjoyment. We have several packages each designed to cover a certain degree of requirement. A well maintained yacht leads to a higher degree of confidence in the vessel, leaving the owner and crew more relaxed to enjoy time aboard. Everything is aimed at the one and only goal ‘more time and fun onboard.

WHAT WE PROPOSE

In the absence of yacht owners/skippers on board, we offer a complete care and maintenance schemes at very reasonable rates comprising the following:

  • Daily Checking of Mooring lines

  • Routine weekly cleaning

  • Regular running of engines, checking oil levels, fuel and water.

  • Battery Maintenance

  • Bilge checking and pumping as necessary

  • and de-humidifying interior airing

  • Internal cleaning

  • Annual boat maintenance

  • Service and repair work

On agreement, during bad weather spells, our crew also continuously checks all mooring lines for the duration of bad weather even during the night.

Our turn key boating package offers are designed to make boating an enjoyable stress free experience, giving discerning owners the opportunity to arrive at their boat with the covers off, engines checked, water and fuel tanks filled, and any provisioning. When departing, leave the boat and we will arrange everything that needs to be sorted ie. Covers, linen, cleaning fridges etc.

Enjoy your boat to the full and eliminate hassle, worry and work. Whether or not your boat is in use, you can be sure it’s being looked after every bit as well as you would yourself. Yachting Partners Malta offers you 10 tips for this winter: 

  • Remove as many soft furnishing as you can and store them on shore over winter.

  • Empty and deep clean any fridges; consider turning off and leaving open until they are used again. 

  • Ensure all on-deck electronic covers are tightly fitted. 

  • Install a dehumidifier and stand up any remaining soft furnishings and mattresses and open lockers to air can flow around the boat.

 

  • For sailboats, remove sails and then get them laundered and stored over winter.

  • Ensure the fuel tank is topped up, to make sure condensation doesn't occur. If your boat is staying in the water over winter, then ensure that the engine is run regularly. 

  • Inspect the rudders, propellers and shafts, and other exterior surfaces for barnacles,removing them as you go.

  • Flush the engine with antifreeze using an intake hose connected to the water pump and ensure to change the boat’s transmission fluid.

  •  Remove the spark plugs, and clean the engine with fogging spray.

  • If you're boat is staying in the water over winter, make sure to add extra mooring lines and fenders, to ensure your boat is secure in preparation for bad weather.  Make sure to check her regularly over the winter months.
